We're happy to onboard you to our WhatsApp Business API. Before beginning the onboarding process, ensure you have the following requirements ready:
Verified Meta Business Profile: Your business must have a verified Meta (Facebook) Business account. Ensure you have the necessary permissions to manage your organization's Meta Business account.
Phone Number: A dedicated phone number for your WhatsApp Business API (if you need assistance obtaining one, please contact our support team). The phone number you use cannot be associated with an existing personal WhatsApp account.
Onboarding Fee: USD 85 payment ready for processing
Monthly Maintenance: USD 50 in your wallet for monthly maintenance
Step-by-Step Onboarding Process
Step 1: Access the Onboarding Link
Click on this “Start Onboarding" link
You'll be redirected to the secure onboarding portal
Step 2: Map Your WhatsApp Profile to your Meta Business Profile
Option 1 - Connect Your WhatsApp Business App
Please note that this feature is not available in Nigeria & South Africa
Select ‘Connect a WhatsApp Business App’ and enter your phone number.
Follow the on-screen prompts to link your app via the generated QR code.
Select your Timezone, click Next, and then Confirm to complete the process.
Option 2 - Create a WhatsApp Business Account
Select ‘Create a WhatsApp Business Account’ and enter your business details as prompted.
Choose to add a new number and select your preferred verification method (SMS or Voice).
Enter the verification code received into the provided field.
Wait 1–3 minutes for the system to validate your number and complete the setup.
Step 3: Receive Verification Notification
Upon successful verification, you'll receive a confirmation notification within 96 hours
This notification will be sent to both your registered email and displayed on the portal
The notification confirms that your WhatsApp Business number is now active
Keep this notification for your records
Step 4: Map Number to AT Username
In the final step, we will link your verified WhatsApp Business Account to your Africa's Talking username
Here's where you will be invoiced USD 85 (for setup) and USD 50 (for your first monthly maintenance installment)
This connection enables you to manage your WhatsApp API through your existing AT dashboard
You'll receive a final confirmation that your integration is complete
